An AD Code (Authorized Dealer Code) is an essential compliance requirement for every exporter who wishes to send goods from any Indian port. Without registering an AD Code at the port and linking it with ICEGATE, exporters cannot generate Shipping Bills—making it impossible to move cargo outside the country.
At KII Business Startup Solutions, we offer streamlined and end-to-end AD Code Registration services for all ports in India, enabling exporters to operate smoothly across customs, ports, and DGFT systems without workflow disruptions.
Our experts ensure error-free documentation, correct bank authorization, port-specific filing, and ICEGATE activation to make your export operations fully compliant.
What is an AD Code?
An Authorized Dealer (AD) Code is a 14-digit numerical code issued by the bank where the exporter maintains their current account. The code identifies the exporter’s bank branch to customs authorities and is mandatory for processing export shipments.
The AD Code must be registered with the respective port customs. Only after approval can exporters generate Shipping Bills, which are essential for customs clearance and processing export benefits.
Why AD Code Registration is Mandatory
1. Essential for Generating Shipping Bills
No AD Code = No Shipping Bill = No Exports.
Without a valid AD Code registered at the port, the customs system will not allow your shipment to proceed.
2. Required for Export Incentives
Export incentives such as RoDTEP, RoSCTL, Duty Drawback, and other FTP benefits require a valid AD Code linked with ICEGATE.
3. Mandatory at Every Port of Export
If you export from multiple ports, you must register your AD Code separately at each port.
4. Needed for Customs Verification & Payment Monitoring
Customs uses AD Code to validate export proceeds and track foreign remittances received through your bank.
Who Needs an AD Code?
New exporters
Existing exporters shipping from a new port
Manufacturers exporting finished goods
Traders and merchant exporters

MSMEs entering global trade
Exporters applying for DGFT incentives
Organizations shipping containerized, air, or sea cargo
